About S.T.A.R.S.
Established in 2014, S.T.A.R.S. is Kudzu Playhouse’s premiere theatrical education program, designed to provide instruction in all aspects of live theatrical arts to all ages. Classes and workshops are available on a rotating basis in acting, dance, vocal instruction, auditions, technical (lights and sound), as well as stage elements (stage management, props, set design) and will be offered to wide range of ages and experience levels.
Upcoming Class Opportunities
As a result of COVID-19 and local guidance, Kudzu’s STARS have tentatively been rescheduled to resume in Spring of 2021. Final dates are to be determined.
Charlotte’s Web (Drama)

Ages 7 and up – All experience levels (must be able to read)

Based on the classic tale, Charlotte, determined to save Wilbur, begins her campaign with the “miracle” of her web in which she writes, “Some pig.” It’s the beginning of a victorious campaign which ultimately ends with the now safe Wilbur doing what is most important to Charlotte.
Junie B Jones JR (Musical)

Ages 6 and up – Novice to Intermediate experience level

Join Junie B. on her first day of first grade, where many changes are in store: Junie’s best friend Lucille has found new best friends — and Junie B. makes friends with Herb, the new kid at school. While in Mr. Scary’s class, Junie has trouble reading the blackboard — and she may need glasses. Add in a friendly cafeteria lady, an intense kickball tournament and a “Top-Secret Personal Beeswax Journal,” and first grade has never been more exciting.
Madagascar JR (Musical)

Join Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe, Gloria the hip hip Hippo and, of course, those hilarious, plotting penguins and all of your favorite crack-a-lackin’ friends as they escape from their home in New York’s Central Park Zoo and find themselves on an unexpected journey to the madcap world of King Julien’s Madagascar.
